This picture just doesn't do justice to this huge, turquoise americauna egg! John Wesley came in from gathering the eggs yesterday as I was reading with the other kids. He thrust this gigantic egg at me and we all couldn't help but marvel at the sheer size of it. It's about twice the size of a regular egg. In fact, the egg next to it is one of our larger eggs from our light brown leghorn. (Also notice the dark, olive green egg on the bottom right--I love the colors!)
Tonight when we cracked it, we found out it was twins! Wonder if this chicken will always give us double-yolkers? This farm stuff is so much fun.
