A Daddy with his boys sweating over little green leaves newly planted.
On the other side of the fence, you'll find a goat...
and some guineas...just waiting for the moment they find that gate open so they can get in and have a feast.
They'll eat up my herb garden John Wesley planted for me. Do goats like rosemary?
They'll eat up all our lettuce and cabbages and peppers and squashes.
And they'd probably eat up all our strawberries.
That would be a lot of hard work wasted, so we're trying to be really careful about the garden gate. But we're also preparing our collective heart for the moment we find it open and see our critters eating their fill on all the hard work. Cause, you know...it's as likely as not to happen with all the coming and going.
Lena's baby rabbits have grown and are nearly ready to leave the momma's nest. They're adorable.
MaKenzie is supervising the garden work, while Anna enjoys a cool place to rest out of the sun.
Lena's learning to ride the four wheeler.
And believe it or not, my Mother's Day flowers have SURVIVED!!!! They did NOT become gourmet goat food. I hope the same can be said of our garden in the coming weeks!
